Bereavement

Sadly, Brother Lance Blair, Past Worthy District Grand Patron of South Lanark District Grand Chapter and Past Worthy Patron of Bluebell Chapter No 356 has passed away. His funeral will be held on Wednesday 22nd September at 1:30 at Forth Church, thereafter to Carnwath Cemetery. Brother Blair was secretary of Bluebell Chapter, and his wife Margaret was treasurer until the Chapter went into dormancy. The Supreme Grand Chapter of Scotland expresses their sincere condolences to Margaret and the family.

Charity Walk with a difference

This year our Worthy Grand Esther, Sister May Hunter along with her daughter Tina is taking part in the Macmillan “Rob Roy Mighty Hike” as part of their “Whatever it Takes” campaign. This consists of a 26 mile walk from Callander to Killin which will take place on the 28th August 2021.

MWGP Update

Sisters and brothers, the latest news on our Most Worthy Grand Patron, Brother Neil Dunsmore is that he is still very poorly, but was discharged from hospital on Friday 13th August. He is now at home and is being looked after by his daughters. I am sure that we all wish Brother Dunsmore well, and that he is in all our thoughts and prayers.

It is my sad duty to inform you that Sister Sandra (also known as Florence) Powers PWDGM of F&KDGC and wife of the late Eric Powers PWDGP of F&KDGC, passed away last night.

The thoughts of the Supreme Grand Chapter of Scotland go to Sister Powers’ family and friends at this sad time.

Obituary

With great sadness I have to announce that Sister Dorothy Jones PWDGM of North of England District Grand Chapter has passed away. She laterally affiliated to Fellside Chapter No. 489 after her mother Chapter (Hadrian Chapter No. 484) went into dormancy.

Sister Jones was diagnosed with cancer in November 2020 but after a bout of chemotherapy sadly succumbed to her illness. Her funeral was on the 10th August 2021.

The Supreme Grand Chapter of Scotland offers our sincere condolences to Sister Jones’ family and friends.

Sisters and brothers, sadly I have to tell you that our Most Worthy Grand Patron is seriously ill in hospital. Brother Neil Dunsmore needs an operation to replace a heart valve, unfortunately due to complications the surgeons are unable to perform the operation at this time.

I must thank Brother Dunsmore’s daughter Hazel for keeping me informed, and will post further news when it becomes available.

We wish Brother Dunsmore well and I am sure that he is in all our thoughts and prayers.

Bereavement

It is with sadness that I have to report that Bro James Mackie PWP of Carronvale Chapter No 64 has passed away. Bro Mackie was a well kent face attending both meetings and social events particularly in S,WL&C and Lanarkshire DG Chapters. Brother Mackie will be sorely missed by all that knew him, and a big loss to the Order.
